About Vida
Vida Pilates Studio was founded by Rebecca Young and Adriana Welham, two experienced teachers from Bishop’s Stortford who believe movement should feel personal, supportive and connected.

Our story

We met more than 15 years ago through one of Bishop’s Stortford’s international groups. Our daughters were a similar age, quickly became friends, and our own friendship grew from there.
Originally from Venezuela and the Philippines, we often brought traditional dishes from our home countries to local parties and community events. That shared love of culture, connection and bringing people together became the foundation of a lasting bond.
Professionally, we soon discovered how much else we had in common. Adriana was teaching dance fitness and yoga, while Rebecca was teaching Pilates. Our paths crossed regularly at studios and leisure centres around Bishop’s Stortford, and we developed a shared passion for helping people through movement.
After many years of teaching Pilates, we began imagining a warm, welcoming studio where we could teach in our own way. We wanted to combine our knowledge, experience and personal approach, giving local people more choice and a genuinely attentive experience. It was never about competing with what already existed. It was about creating something true to us.
We talked about the dream for years. Then one day, we looked at each other and asked, “Why don’t we just do it?” It took a year to find the right home and work through the practical details. Now Vida Pilates Studio is a reality in the heart of Bishop’s Stortford.
If you are looking for personal attention, expert teaching, steady progression and a genuine sense of community, we would love to welcome you to Vida.
